District 6 Grand National Teams Event 2024-2025

Details for this year are still being finalized, so check back here later. For your planning purposes, note that, new this year to the Grand National Teams – there are MAJOR CHANGES TO FLIGHT LIMITS

The FLIGHT MASTERPOINT LIMITS are as follows:

Open Championship Flight Unlimited

Flight A Under 6000 Masterpoints

Flight B Under 3000 Masterpoints

Flight C Non-Life Master Under 750 Masterpoints

Flight eligibility will be established by ACBL’s September masterpoint cycle. This information was produced on August 6, 2024 in Horn Lake, MS. Masterpoints won after this cycle will not impact flight eligibility for these events.

The first qualifying weekend for the Open Championship Flight will be held February 1-2, 2025 at the Silver Spring Civic Building.  The Open Championship Final will conclude February 22-23, 2025 at the NVBA Sectional.

Flight B and C will be contested February 1-2, 2025, possibly including a satellite site and with any final rounds also at the NVBA Sectional February 22-23. 

The Flight A schedule and site details are still being determined.

Congratulations to Eric Mayefsky and Mike Develin who finished 1st in the BRUCE LM 0-6000 Life Master Pairs, and to Eric Mayefsky and Joon Pahk who finished 2nd in the Oshlag Fast Pairs. Congratulations to Robert Ives, Louis-Amaury Beauchet, Ana Kovacevic and Miroslav Kovacevic who finished 1st in the 0-6000 Mini-Spingold. Congratulations to Jeffrey Schwartz and Cynthia Ogden who finished 2nd in the YOUNG 0-2500 Pairs. Congratulations to GNT Open Flight Winners

Congratulations to William Neumann, Mark Dahl, Fred King, Bob Bell, John McAllister and Sophie Baldysz who won a close match against the team of Steve Robinson, Peter Boyd, Bill Cole, Alan Schwartz, Michael Gill and Noble Shore on February 18, 2024 and will represent District 6 in the GNT competition at the NABC in Toronto, CN in July.

Congratulations to GNT Flight B and Flight C Winners

The District Six GNT B and C flights have concluded.

The winners in Flight B are the Devaney team (Barbara Devaney, Alex Stille, Neil Cowie, Daniel Zenko, Rolf Swenson).

The second place team is Bingham (Rick Bingham, Mel Yudkin, Peter Van Zijl, Mike Berard).

These teams will represent the District in the Flight B GNT Finals at the NABC this summer in Toronto.

In Flight C, the winners are the Chen team ( Li Chen, Fanjun Kong, Lequin Shi, Lewis Hutchinson) who will represent District Six in the Flight C  GNT finals in Toronto.

Colonial Williamsburg Regional February 26 – March 1

Please join us in historic Williamsburg, Virginia for the Williamsburg Regional Monday, February 26 through Friday, March 1st.  The tournament will be held at the Williamsburg DoubleTree by Hilton, 50 Kingsmill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.  

If you’re an Intermediate or Newcomer player, our program includes Gold Point opportunities in all two-session events and expert speakers throughout the week.  

If you can’t join us in person you can join us online on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for a Regionally Rated online game on BBO.
